When you realize that just about all your college roommates will be in Clemson for the FSU game, you book a flight and go. Man, if I could relive this past weekend over and over again I would. The White House now spreads all over the country with James in Seattle, Kate and Steph in Dallas, Liz in Atlanta, Kat in Charleston, and Liz in Charlotte. Being reunited this weekend was just what we all needed.
Saturday morning Ben took me to the airport bright and early to hop on the plane to Greenville. Luckily, I met the kindest new friend, Kathy, in DC who offered me a ride from Greenville to Clemson. It may sound sketchy, but hey, she was a Tiger, I was a Tiger, and transportation was crucial in this situation. Shoutout to Kathy for saving the day! As we pulled on to campus I had all the feels. Every car had their tiger paws and orange flags, the streets were flooded with purple and orange, and music playing from every tailgate. It was game day in Tigertown. I hopped out of the car and headed straight to the Stephens tailgate where all tailgating dreams come true. A lot of hugs, laughter, and pictures occurred.
God love them.
#1 is a nice place to be.
Himes I have missed you so, so much.
A year and a half is entirely too long without ya Steph.
You’re a beaut Kat.
Ever so typical.
Sweet lizard.
Death Valley in all its glory.
We held down the floor it the upper deck and had the best of times.
9-0 feels nice. Love my Tigers.
After the game we tailgated a bit more and then made our way back to the Stephens’ lake house and stayed up laughing, catching up, and reliving our Clemson days. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
Sunday was lovely with a slow coffee morning, a workout with Liz, and then frolicking back around Clemson.
Long live Steph’s garden.
This weekend I got to laugh harder than I have in awhile with my favorite people in the world. The White House will always hold the dearest of places in my heart and I am so, so thankful for each of their friendships. I am convinced Clemson truly is the happiest place on earth.
