JANUARY
Ben and I rang in the New Year along the Thames.
Hannah moved in with us on 20 Cockspur Street and became the best roommate/sister/friend.
Hope and I travelled to Budapest and it was the greatest. We’ve had a good thing going since we were 12 and traveling to Budapest was a lovely addition to our list of adventures.
FEBRUARY
Ben and I took the train up to Durham to spend time with friends.
Valentine’s Day celebrations were in order.
We had brunch in Richmond with friends we made in Budapest and continued to fall in love with London.
The kindest husband in all the land whisked me away to Paris for my birthday and…
..he made all my dreams come true by having a baguette sword fight with me in front of the Eiffel Tower. I highly recommend spending your birthday in Paris.
MARCH
I continued to enjoy every moment of having my best friend live in London. Days were spent at pop ups, shopping, and wandering the city.
Ben and I loved when friends came to London. Always the perfect excuse to head to the best view of the city at Sky Garden.
We packed our bags and flew to Geneva with Ben’s program.
APRIL
Barcelona welcomed us with sunshine, the freshest of fruit, and time at the beach.
In Madrid, we met up with Maggie and Bob and enjoyed divine Spanish food, runs in Retiro Park, and more sunshine.
I loved every moment of my trip to Lisbon with Hannah, Megan, Isabelle, and Chelsea. It was filled with grilled cheese sandwiches, laughter, ice cream, and winding Portuguese streets.
I had the chance to play in an enchanted forest in Sintra with the lovely group of ladies.
MAY
We began May with a trip to walk along Jurassic Coast in Swanage to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The scenery was beautiful and the cream tea was delicious.
We had several picnics in St. James’s Park.
A grey and rainy trip to Brighton.
Ben raced his second triathlon in Eton and I cheered from the sidelines.
May 31, 2015 marked a whole year with Ben. Marriage is the best.
We celebrated the weekend with bike riding, market going, and brunch eating.
June
The beginning of our British summer. The Epsom Derby was an excellent start.
We soaked up London with a picnic on Primrose Hill.
We continued to love London and cover a lot of ground.
JULY
The 4th of July is a favorite memory. We found ourselves at the Henley Regatta with the dearest of friends sipping Pimms, watching the rowers pass by, listening to the quartet singing and playing behind us, and soaking up the quintessential British summer. We ended with an all American dinner back in London and I can not think of any other way to spend the day. I was in my element.
The Watts came to visit and we had a blast! The week was filled with scavenger hunts, sight seeing, breakfast at Sky Garden, flower markets, evenings at Cahoots, and late nights catching up.
We cycled while watching Dirty Dancing with unlimited Ben and Jerrys.
I found out just how beautiful Scotland is. A Scottish weekend filled with dinner parties, barbeques, and reeling.
AUGUST
August was one heck of a month. We had to bid farewell to the sweetest of homes and tears were shed.
Chamonix deserved all the hearts. Goodness I am thankful for legs that allow us to climb mountains, a husband who is the best hiking partner, and the Alps that are the most beautiful backdrop.
After Chamonix, we hopped on a flight to Cannes to catch a few rays of sunshine and wind our way through the narrow streets.
And then was Cassis, a true hidden treasure. We hiked and kayaked through the calanques and were stunned by the crystal clear water. Take me back.
Marseille was our final stop along the south of France before we bid adieu and tried a few coastal runs, oysters, and walks along the port.
SEPTEMBER
While Ben and the guys headed to the Dolomites in Italy for a backpacking trip, I packed my bags for Slovenia. Ljubljana was my first stop and it was beautiful.
Ben and I met in Bled, Slovenia for a relaxing few days filled with reading, running around the lake, a few scooter rides with ENO naps in between. Bliss.
Oh man, then it was back to London to a flat in Soho for a final week. We jam packed that week with every London sight, all our favorite food, goodbye visits to every market, and final meet ups with friends. You could find me bursting into tears passing this bridge, because I mean look at that sight. London just has my heart.
OCTOBER
The Radford Roadtrip began! We hit up Roanoke to see family, Charleston to reunite with Katherine and Liz, Atlanta, and then up to Annapolis!
DC became our new home.
A new home, means more exploring.
NOVEMBER
The sweetest of Clemson reunions occurred. Go Tigers. Go White House. Go Clemson.
We continued to take advantage of living in our nation’s capitol.
It was so good to be home for Thanksgiving and we loved the chance to show Eric and Anna Roanoke.
I can appreciate that we are now only four hours from home rather than an ocean.
DECEMBER
Hannah came to visit DC!
We finally found a weekend to pick out our perfect little Christmas Tree.
Home, sweet, home for Christmas. Ben and I loved every moment of being home.
2015 was an adventure. A year of growth, learning, experiences, and travels. Ben and I fell more in love with each other and more in love with life. As far as years go, 2015 is going to be a tough one to beat.
I’ll leave you with a little video of all our 2015 travels.
