Hooray for events where you dress up, wear hats, and sip wine! After all these years, I finally made it to Annapolis for the annual St. John’s croquet match and managed to do so with the greatest crew around. Saturday began with french toast, grapefruit, and mimosas in our spring dresses and the boys in their finest. Then, off downtown for the match in the most beautiful weather.
Seriously, what an attractive bunch.
These guys are just too much.
And so very thankful for these ladies.
I love these three and their love of England and tea.
After the match, Ben and I sat on our old porch steps and reminisced of the good ole newlywed summer days before heading to the greatest spot in all the land, Annapolis Ice Cream Company. My heart is happiest there.
We walked around downtown for a bit and then on the Yard before heading back for the evening.
Sunday morning was perfect, as expected when spent with Anna and Eric. Ben and I snuck out for some Naval Bagels before heading back and spending the slowest of mornings on the couch with multiple cups of coffee in hand. Ben and I hold their friendship so dear and are so thankful to walk through this stage of life with them. After a few rounds of coffee, we threw on our running shoes for a jog along the water and trails. Ben and Jean Luc then decided it was a beautiful day for a swim. Crazy, I tell ya.
We spent the afternoon hitting up all of our favorite Annapolis spots. I had no idea I missed this special little town so much. Crab dip, happy hour, the shops downtown, Mangias pizza along the water, and Annapolis Ice Cream (yes, again). Check, check, check. If only we remembered to bring our hammock to swing alongside the docks.
Annapolis was our first little home and will forever hold a special place in my heart. What a weekend with the greatest of friends (and ice cream).
Great entry this week, Carr barr! Especially the guy in the bow tie – who is that handsome devil?? I also want a framed copy of Mr. Ben with that milkshakalaka! Really had me smiling reading this. Semper fidelis, and God Bless. Love, Lt Bubba
