Another weekend in the books! Saturday morning Ben and I put on our navy and gold and met up with Jean Luc and Eric in Annapolis for the game. Thankful that those three let me crash their party every once in awhile :). Hanging out with them is such a treat! Before the game, we managed to make a stop in the Mid store for old times sake where we apparently are not able to walk out empty handed. Then it was off to the stadium!
Ben and I agreed that this was hands down one of our favorite Navy games we have been to for several reasons. For starters, the weather was doing great things and gave us the perfect crisp fall football day. Second, thanks to Jean Luc, we sat in wonderful box seats where we enjoyed great food and a perfect view of the field. To top it off, it ended up being quite the Roanoke reunion and we were able to catch up with so many familiar faces!
After the game I even convinced Ben to have ice cream for dinner with me! He firmly believes that one can not simply dine on ice cream for dinner. I beg to differ. Especially when it is from Annapolis Ice Cream Company and it is half peanut butter oreo and half peanut butter chocolate. Saturday was a good one.
Sunday morning Ben and I had an accidental lie in. Oops. But man was it nice. After a slow morning we strolled through Eastern Market onwards to Capitol Hill for a few tourist views.
My morning and evening bike rides to work, although long, have been so delightful with all the leaves in their prime. Fall looks good on DC. I would love if all these reds, oranges, and yellows could stick around as long as possible especially when accompanied by sunshine.
From our porch you can see the Capitol and I am extra excited for all the construction-esque things to be gone!
Taking notes from the other tourists.
After a stroll we grabbed some lunch at a nearby cafe before looping back around towards home.
On our way back we stumbled upon a excellent little park with a great set of swings. Ben and I jump at any opportunity for a good swing. Our hopes and desires were quickly shot down by all the small children who were not about to give up their swing spot. Maybe another day.
Now it’s back to another work week for me, TBS week for Ben, and looking forward to the next weekend together. I am hoping a pumpkin patch or apple orchard are in the cards at some point!
