As you know, Ben and I spent last weekend in Swanage exploring the Jurassic Coast. This week we managed to make it to three other English towns. I can say we are truly developing a very deep appreciation for this country. Here are just a few snapshots from our week!
On Tuesday, I met Ben at the train station to make our way to Cambridge for a formal hall at St. John’s College. I loved every bit of it, especially the capes. It was a beautiful evening spent with great friends.
On Saturday morning we caught the train to Windsor for Ben’s sprint triathlon. I got to be his number 1 fan ;) What a guy, what an athlete!
Spoiler alert: He did indeed did beat the guy in front of him! I really loved cheering him on, and celebrating after with a little view of the castle, a lovely stroll around the town, lunch, and a milkshake.
Sunday morning, we hopped on another train to make our way down to Brighton. In theory, I envisioned a sunny day by the seaside, a book in hand, and maybe an ice cream cone. But, hey, sometimes you get the greyest of skies and coolest of breezes. We were a bit ambitious in our clothing options. Even still we had a great day! Brighton truly is a charming little seaside town.
Such a great week filled with train rides, English towns, and even a visit from our friends, Eric, Anna, and her mom. As I have said before, we really love this country and we really enjoying London with visitors.
