A year ago today I woke up after barely sleeping so eager, anxious, and excited for our wedding day. Hair and makeup were done, music was blared on the way to the venue with all my bridesmaids, dance parties occurred, a lot of laughter, and even more excitement. I put my dress on and then placed the flowers in my hair. So much joy. Then, I finally got to see you. I’ll never forget walking through the field up to where you were standing. The longest of walks and my stomach doing flips the entire way. I giggled and cried and we hugged and kissed.
The day was more than I could have possibly dreamed. Beautiful weather, all of our closest family and friends, and the saying of “I dos”. We promised one another so many things and they still stand true. Finally, Mr. and Mrs. Radford!
I don’t think I stopped smiling all day long.
We got to share the day with all of our loved ones. I have never felt so loved or celebrated in all my life. I got to dance my face off with you and cherish the fact that I was finally your wife. I would love to live that day over and over again.
Truly the absolute best day. Although that day was so perfect, it wasn’t just about our wedding, but about our marriage. Ben, this first year I have learned more than I thought possible. I have grown and been challenged. We have laughed and cried together. We have been on adventure after adventure and seen so much of the world together. We have dreamed up things for our future while cherishing the here and now. I love every moment from making coffee in the morning together to hopping on flights around Europe together. We have grown as a team. I’m your biggest fan and your number one supporter. Thanks for loving me, caring for me, leading me, laughing with me, and giving me the privilege to be called your wife. You make life all sorts of wonderful.
I really, really love you Ben Radford. Happy anniversary, and here’s to many, many more “best year of our lives.”
