The concept of a Saturday brunch is slowly making its way into our London lives as a little tradition and I don’t mind it one bit. As you recall the same idea happened last week. What can I say, I have a thing for brunch. This week’s edition happened in Hope’s neck of the woods, Richmond, and it was lovely. We headed over to Bill’s Restaurant to test out their brunch options and have a relaxing morning around town.
The inside is so lovely. I think I could live there to be honest. Exposed brick, wire shelves, and a Anthropologie-esque feel. Don’t mind if I do.
Thankfully we made it just in time for breakfast. (We love a good Saturday lie in.) Again, its always the dilemma as to whether to order a sweet or savory dish.
The solution? Buttermilk blueberry pancakes for the table. I mean wow.
Hannah and I did a little half and half with butternut squash mac and cheese and a toast, eggs, and vegetable dish. I think I have forgotten just how good the combination of mac and cheese is, and then throw in butternut squash… it’s heavenly.
Its been so fun to continue to hang out with our Budapest friends. Brunchin it up, planning European weekend trips, exploring markets, and eating treats. Such a small world, and I am super thankful for noticing their American accents at the airport.
I also highly recommend making a trip out to the Richmond area. It has a bit of a small town feel. There is the river, boats, shops, and alleys. It has all the aspects of London but is just a bit calmer and quite refreshing. A small Saturday market was the perfect stop after our brunch before heading down to the river.
I can’t say it enough. Having your best friend living in the same city (that just so happens to be London) is just about the best thing I could ask for. Love you so dearly Hope Ammen. Thanks for sticking with me during the awkward years ;)
I’d say it was the perfect start to our weekend. Unfortunately the weekend ended with a fever for me, but hey I’ll just watch Netflix, take naps, and sip my tea for the time being.
I hope your weekend was simply lovely.
